“Gianni Schicchi” is a comic opera composed in 1917 and based on an incident mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy. The work is the third and final part of Giacomo Puccini’s Il trittico (The Triptych). The aria “O mio babbino caro” is one of Puccini's best known, and one of the most popular arias in opera. “Gianni Schicchi” will be sung in its original Italian and interpreted through dance for the audience by the EIU Dancers. This unique collaboration will bring to life this Opera in a way never before seen. Come laugh and see what is sure to be one of the most beautiful and stunning operas ever produced at EIU!!!
