The Lincoln Trio

Premier Events
Recital Hall
Tuesday, Sep 25, 2018 at 7:30 PM (CT)

Described as “sensational”, “bewitching” and “models of vibrancy and control”, the celebrated GRAMMY-nominated Chicago-based Lincoln Trio – made up of Desiree Ruhstrat, violin, David Cunliffe, cello, and Marta Aznavoorian, piano – takes its name from their home, the land of Lincoln. The trio has been praised for its polished presentation of well-known chamber works and its ability to forge new paths with their repertoire. The group’s reputation as a first-rate ensemble draws an eclectic audience of sophisticated music lovers, young admirers of contemporary programs, and those discovering chamber music for the first time. For their performance in the Doudna’s Recital Hall, part of the Lincoln Trio’s program will feature the music of Latin American composers including works by Mexican composer Manuel Ponce, Colombian composer Juan Antonio Cuéllar, and Argentinian tango composer Ástor Piazzolla. The program is part of the festivities of EIU’s Latin American History Month Sponsored in part by the EIU Classical Music Artists Committee.
